Recruiter : Hivos Regional Office Southeast Asia Location : Jakarta Purpose : Programme Manager for a Programme to be implemented by Hivos (grantee) with support from the Omidyar Network (grantor) in Indonesia and the Philippines Contract : The contract will be with Hivos Regional Office Southeast Asia (ROSEA) Offer : - From 1 October 2012 onwards an employment for two years (the initial appointment will be for one year with a possible extension depending on performance and programme continuation); - a salary depending on experience. - if applicable participation in pension fund; - Hivos Terms and Conditions for Indonesian staff are applicable Organisation, Programme description Omidyar Network Fund and the SouthEast Asian Technology and Transparency Initiative (SEATTI) will support technology-driven civil society organizations working in areas of media and government transparency in South East Asia. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, SEATTI will aim to build a vibrant ‘technology for transparency’ sector in Southeast Asia by investing in approximately 16 organizations over the three-year grant period. Investments will be in small early-stage organizations and range in size from $10,000 to $100,000. Detailed criteria on investment selection will be developed on selection of the fund’s programme manager. Hivos Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organisation inspired by humanist values. Job Description The Regional Program Manager will be responsible for the overall management including planning, implementing and monitoring of the programme in both countries. S/he will provide senior leadership to the overall operations and take responsibility for the overall performance and management of the programme. S/he will lead a small team (3 professionals including the PM). The position is Jakarta-based with frequent travel in the SEA region, especially the Philippines. Job Specification & Requirements - Ample programme management experience along with planning and time management skills - Vision on transparency and accountability as values and their implementation - Thorough understanding of social media, civil society and online communities - Experience in managing grants and sub-grants - Knowledge and experience applying monitoring and evaluation tools in programme management and using information gathered to improve programme performance - Experience in building capacity of partner organizations and demonstrated success in interacting with government agencies, such as blogger communities. - Ability to work in multi- cultural environment and with a wide range of stakeholders. - Outstanding English oral and written communication skills - Working experience in at least one of the participating countries of the project. - Ability to ensure that program schedules and objectives are met - Ability to travel to programmes areas in the two programme countries (Indonesia, Philippines), and international meetings/conferences as required Expression of Interest If you are interested in this job, please send a current cover letter and CV latest by 25 August 2012 with subject: “ProgManOmidyar” to: Hivos Southeast Asia, e-mail: hrd@hivos.or.id www.hivos.nl
