SurfAid International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering through community-based health programs. We perform our work in isolated regions connected to us through surfing and are professional, highly energized, innovative and youthful in our outlook. Our main program areas are Community Based Health, Emergency Preparation, Environmental Health (Water and Sanitation) and Malaria Prevention. To support the technical and infrastructure part for SeSe (Sejahtera Masyarakat, Sehat Ibu Anak) in Mentawai, we are looking for Watsan Engineer to be based in Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra. The main objective for the position is providing technical assistance to SurfAid’s partner communities to build clean water and sanitation facilities as well as building school project. Minimum Requirements : •Engineer degree with minimum 5 years experience, preferably with 2-3 years experience in NGO •Master technical drawing and designing, especially for ferrocement water tanks and school •Knowledge and experience working with communities in community based programs •Has good management and leadership •Open for cultural differences, preferably familiar with Mentawai culture and language •Able to ride motorbike •Willing to be base in remote location with minimum access to communication Please send your cover letter and updated CV to jobs@surfaidinternational.org with WATSAN ENGINEER as your email subject before September 23, 2012.
