Women Empowerment Officer

Women Empowerment Officer Building and Deepening Resilience in Eastern Indonesia Project Based in Jakarta, Indonesia Fixed Term contract 17 months Who are we? The role: Under the supervision of DRR/CCA Coordinator, the Women Empowerment Officer will provide substantive and practical technical support to Oxfam and Partners teams in NTT, NTB, Papua, Papua Barat to implement the “Building and Deepening Resilience in Eastern Indonesia” programme,including to provide necessary support for the implementation of Oxfam humanitarian work in the areas if required. He/she will support Oxfam and partner’s teams to conduct gender analysis and to assess women’s specific needs and vulnerabilities to disasters, and ensure these are addressed throughout the programme implementation. The requirement: Essential Skill and Competencies: Job Specific §Minimum two years’ experience of gender work; §Strong understanding and skill on gender analysis, including various tools and methods for gender analysis; §Experience in gender training, and gender specific advocacy; §Experience of providing strategic inputs and guidance at different levels ; §Expertise and Experience in participatory approach; §Experience of capacity building: training and mentoring, giving and receiving feedback; §Strong ability to communicate well: listening and questioning skills, creative thinking and problem solving; §Familiarity with NGOs, Civil Society Organisations ; § Proficiency in spoken and written Indonesian and English; §Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Self-Management §Experience of dealing with resistance: assertiveness, identifying and overcoming resistance, persuasion and negotiation skills; § Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with people from various cultural and social backgrounds; § Experience in working in multi-sectoral programme and ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure and to deadlines; §Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel frequently to the field/remote areas in the project sites; § Ability to work as part of a multi-cultural team and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; §Mature and professional attitude and approach; Integrity/Commitment to mandate § Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and values, including strong commitment to gender, diversity issues, Code Of Conduct, equal opportunities and capacity building; Desirable Skill and Competencies: * Minimum of two years experiences with international/local agencies in implementing and managing activities related to gender and disaster management or development programme * University Education in Management, social science or Development related field of study * Previous working experience with Oxfam. * Good understanding on Humanitarian Programme/DRR, CBDRM, relief and development issues, including mainstreaming gender into DRR works * Experience in working in multi-sectoral programme and ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure and to deadlines.
