The Eijkman Institute

Project title: Intermittent Screening and Treatment or Intermittent Prevention Therapy for control of malaria in pregnancy in Indonesia (STOPMIP) The positions offer opportunities for motivated candidates to join an international collaborative project between the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK. The Eijkman Institute is a prestigious well established internationally acclaimed research institute advancing and contributing to infectious and non-infectious disease based scientific research. Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is an international centre of excellence with upto date access and expertise in tropical infectious diseases making them a world leader in their field. Computer literacy, time management and organisational skills and ability to work both collaboratively and independently across a multi-disciplinary team are essential. Good command of written and spoken English is an additional merit for the roles below; 1. Data Assistant (Jakarta) Purpose: To work under the directions of the project Data Manager in maintaining, supporting and introducing data into electronic database. He/she will be detailed oriented and maintain high level of accuracy in handling data. Project based fixed term for 12 months extendable for another 12 months Qualification: Bachelor degree or higher in mathematics or computer science or IT Basic Computer knowledge and skills Must be able to work with minimum supervision He/she is open to learning new skills. Additional merit: Ability to manage Microsoft Office Package Knowledge of using statistical software such as SPSS The responsibilities include 1. Assist with data processing including data transfer, verification and cleaning ensuring standards in the protocol are followed 2. Maintain all records and documentation of data entry 3. Be able to do coding after training 4. Coordinate with Data Manager for data confirmation 5. Organise filing of data records in a systematic manner and locates files upon request 6. Assists in printing and dispatching of clinical record forms 2. Data Clerk (South West Sumba) Will work under directions from the project Data Manager and the field Research Assistants to assist data management and entry Project based fixed term for 12 months extendable for another one year Qualification: Senior High School certificate or higher degree in mathematics or IT Computer literacy is essential Willing to reside in SW Sumba project site Additional Merit: experience in managing Microsoft Office Package The successful candidate will be based in South west Sumba district and work closely with scientific team conducting a clinical trial. He/she is open to learning new skills.
