For more information please visit www.childfund.org ChildFund Indonesia is currently seeking: Position : Grants Development Specialist (Position Code: GDS) Reporting to : Program Director Based in : Jakarta FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY The Program Development Specialist position supports ChildFund Indonesia’s overall growth strategy, specifically through developing and implementing a fund raising strategy and maintaining and expanding a diverse grants portfolio. The Specialist will will work closely with the Indonesia Program Director and program team on development of ideas into opportunities, and will be a key member of proposal development teams. The Specialist will engage in networks and actively develop donor relationships necessary for the function. Extensive travel within Indonesia will form part of the function. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development Lead on developing and implementing the country program funding strategy as a logical extension of ChildFund Indonesia’s Country and Area Strategies and Plans.Support conceptualization of ideas through problem analysis and provision of technical input to project components Identify training needs, develop training modules, and provide training to support program development that is successful in getting funded by a variety donors (e.g. logical framework approach, donor interests and trends, proposal formats)Develop thematic capacity statements and past performance references Grants Portfolio Administration Maintain the Indonesia component of the Business Development Database and its associated shared files and act as liaison with the Regional Office in the development of these;Advice and support program staff on effective use of program management database in relation to externally funded programs; Proposal Development Coordinate or manage proposal development process, including developing and maintaining calendars and responsibility matrices, and ensuring appropriate and timely communication between international, regional and national office;Coordinate and provide input to Terms of Reference for technical consultants, Teaming Agreements, Partnership Agreements, and other documentation necessary for development of proposals;Provide technical input and write into appropriate proposal format input of others;Participate in developing, reviewing and refining proposals (narrative and budget) to ensure meeting requirements of the donor. Networking and Information Gathering Actively research funding opportunities, map existing and new donor prospects, analyze changing donor strategies;Engage in programmatic national and regional networks related to the program growth direction of ChildFund Indonesia;Plan and implement donor relationship strategies; pro-actively network with existing and potential donors;Support local staff in building and maintaining donor relationships and networks. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Between 3-5 years experience in an international development / non-profit setting;Demonstrated experience coordinating development of successful proposals;Experience with and knowledge of rules and regulations of USG donors (USAID, DOL, State, etc.), EC and ECHO, multilaterals (UN, WB, Global Fund), corporate donors and foundations, as well as other institutions’ grant making activities;Experience supporting management of large projects funded by major donors;Strong conceptual design skills and experience developing key components of grant proposals (logical framework, technical design, implementation plan, budgets, sustainability, M&E)In-depth knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Adobe. Affinity with information management tools, social networks, and search engines;Outstanding English language communication skills, especially writing;Experience and skills in training and coaching others;Experience communicating ideas effectively and motivating others;Ability to research, analyze and report (e.g. researching donor priorities, evaluating proposals & reports);Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines;Ability to network effectively with government, donors, other international organizations, as well as local partners and communities;Willingness and able to travel for extended durations;University degree at Bachelor (S1) level is required.
