United Nations World Food Programme Indonesia Vacancy Announcement 12/INS/JAK/IT/033 World Food Programme, Indonesia invites applications from the eligible candidates for the following position: Position : Telecommunications Assistant Contract Type : Service Contract Duration : 3 months with possibility for extension Duty Station : Jakarta - Indonesia Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Telecommunication Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: As the main focal point for all telecommunications services in the country office and sub offices Ensure optimal radio network operations, through the implementation of standard operating procedures and the provision of guidelines and training to local radio operators in the region of assignment; Manage the installation, programming and maintenance of radio communications and HF/VHF network in all offices; Train staff on radio communications procedures including related Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) requirements and use of HF/VHF and other equipment such as satellite phones, fax machines, etc; Ensure appropriate security telecommunications support to WFP staff and provide support to critical inter agency telecommunication hubs; Provide hardware and software trouble shooting support to all offices, in particular for telecoms related matters; Manage the installation, operation and maintenance of the PABX telephone in all offices; Maintain and update the telephone extension list on regular basis and telephone billing system; Liaise with vendors/suppliers for ICT hardware maintenance due to defective equipments Prepare payment request for any ICT services, monthly billings, frequency licensing, etc. Assist to ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, standards, guidelines and procedures for the Sub offices; Evaluate, develop, recommend procedures and participate in discussion on new/revised procedures and practices; Participate in consultation meetings within partners in related to Information Communication Technology Assist in formulating training modules and facilitate training for internal WFP and external partners. Provide Technical assistance to external partners on the best practices of Emergency Telecommunication deployments and setup Collaborate with others unit under Disaster Risk Management Pillar As the backup for user support if the IT assistant is not available Perform any other duty as required Qualifications and Experiences: Education: Secondary school education including or supplemented by courses related to the area of work. Experience: At least four years of progressively responsible job related experience in information technology or telecommunications or information management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, databases, telephone services, radio unit, web design, registry or similar. Some experience in client support, such as, a Help Desk or User Support Unit, web design team, telephone maintenance service, e-marketing group, hotline, or similar. Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Desirable Skills: Experience working in an international organization or multicultural environment. Postsecondary school studies in an institute specialized in information technology or telecommunications or information management or ITIL training.
