Project Officer

Oxfam works in Papua to address poverty and suffering through supporting development, humanitarian and advocacy interventions. We currently work to improve the livelihoods of the poor, build participation in governance and save lives by delivering humanitarian assistance. All of our work promotes gender equality. Oxfam is seeking experienced and highly motivated individual to fill national position based in Papua to work on the Oxfam Papua Area Office. Project Officer ��" Building & Deepening Resilience One (1) position to be based in Jayapura ��" Papua This is a Fixed Term Contract for 1 year Overall purpose: Under the supervision of the Area Project Manager and the support from technical teams, the Project Officer will oversee the implementation of partner projects developed as part of the “Building and Deepening Resilience in Eastern Indonesia” programme in his/her programme district/area, as well as to ensure a high standard of programme quality and accountability both within Oxfam’s own activities and those of programme partners. Skills & Competencies: · University education in Management, Humanitarian/DRR, or Development related field of study. · Minimum of two years experiences with international/local agencies in implementing and managing DRR/Humanitarian programme, including experience of building local capacities to assess, design and manage programme. · Expertise and Experience in participatory approach, including participatory disaster risk analysis and community action plan. · Strong understanding on DRR, CBDRM, relief and development issues, with experience or ability to work directly with local NGOs and communities. · Experiences in monitoring of project. · Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with people from various cultural and social backgrounds. · Good liaison skills especially to local government and stakeholders. · Ability to work and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. · Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and beliefs, including equal opportunities and gender equity in all aspects of Oxfam’s work. · Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian is required, competence in English preferred. · Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel frequently to the field/remote areas in the project sites · Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software Interested applicants please send a cover letter and curriculum vitae not later than 24 July 2012 to: Email: jayapura@oxfam.org.uk cc to btampubolon@oxfam.org.uk Or via airmail to: Oxfam GB ��" Papua Office Jl.
